Peeing On The Sidewalk

Each morning when I get up I cross my fingers Wrangler will make it out the front doors of my building and not pee in the hallway.  He can hold his pee and doesn’t generally have accidents in the apartment, but the pressure from his cart makes him have to go more urgently.  I’ve always lived in a house with a yard so even though my current apartment is probably one of the nicest places I’ve lived in, it’s not ideal for Wrangler.  When Wrangler makes it out the front doors it isn’t long before he pees and in most cases on the sidewalk as the closest grass is a half a block down the street.  I guess this shouldn’t be a big deal although it’s a little embarrassing for me.  If Wrangler could lift his leg and pee on a wall or on a tree it wouldn’t be as bad but I’m literally lifting both of his legs while he pees in the middle of the sidewalk.

I was talking to my friend the other day about this and it must be more common than I realize.  What do other dogs do that live in downtown Vancouver or Toronto or bigger cities like New York?  They must go on the sidewalk?

I guess I need to get over my embarrassment and  Main Street is just going to have to get used to Wrangler peeing on the sidewalk.
