No Body Puts Baby In The Corner

Ok cheesy title…..

You wouldn’t think finding some one to take a perfectly good dog cart would be that difficult, but I guess that’s a good thing.  I tried sending it back to Eddie’s Wheels but they didn’t seem to want it.  I also tried a couple rehab centers in the city and although they do great work with disabled dogs, no one seemed to be in a position to be able to benefit from having it.  Also a good thing.

I decided to try putting it up on Craigslist, I paid good money for the cart and I thought there must be someone who could benefit from using it.

I’ve had it available for 7 months now and the day I put it up on  Craigslist I got an email from Jonina and Craig.  They have a 13 year old Rotti/Lab mix named Baby who has cancer.  She has a few big lumps along her spine and last week she completely lost the use of her back legs.  Jonina checked Craigslist in the morning but found nothing, then she checked again in the afternoon and I had just posted my cart.  After a few emails back and forth we made plans for Baby to come to my house and try it out.  She was becoming depressed and Jonina was hoping to bring some joy back to her life.

As soon as Baby was strapped into the cart she walked over to her mom and had no problems at all.  She walked right out the front door and to the car.  Immediately people stopped them to say hi and ask about the cart.  I could’t help but laugh, I remember it being so difficult to get anywhere without people stopping me.

Here’s an update from Jonina:

“We figured out how to make the cart longer and now it fits her perfect. She loves it! She is so happy it is amazing. On our walk tonight she went everywhere she use to( all over other peoples yards) and didn’t have any problems. It will be way easier when the snow is gone! She has even figured out how to back up and go forward again when she runs into things. She is even begging at the coffee table again.
Thank you again and thank you to Wrangler for giving her this amazing gift.”

Pretty cool if you ask me :)
